After months of dropping teasers on social media, Danny! decided to wait until Valentine's Day to release the first official single from The Book Of Daniel. "Constellations" made its way online in the wee hours of Valentine's Day morning; by the following afternoon, the video was also live.

The FADER was the first to premiere both the song and video, calling "Constellations" "...a carefully considered and sonically smudged falling-out-of-love song." The video was shot by Nothing New Studios in Savannah, Georgia, where Danny! once attended the Savannah College of Art & Design.
